The Problem
The Problem
University of Michigan football VIP season ticket holders pay a premium for exclusive game-day experiences, yet many struggle to access, navigate, or fully utilize their perks.
Fragmented Information: VIP perks (parking, pregame field access, lounge entries, merchandise discounts) were scattered across multiple platforms and physical passes.
Unclaimed Value: Ticket holders regularly missed out on perks they paid for simply because details were unclear or hard to find on game days.
Diminished Perceived Value: The lack of a unified digital experience reduced overall fan satisfaction, directly threatening long-term ticket renewals.

Research & Discovery
Research & Discovery
To map out the friction points across a typical game-day journey, I conducted qualitative user interviews and structured a comprehensive Product Requirements Document (PRD).
User Insights: Interviewees emphasized that game days are fast-paced and high-stress; they expected a VIP experience to feel effortless, clear, and well-organized.
PRD & Scope Definition: Translated interview findings into a concrete PRD defining core app requirements, success metrics, and edge-case risks.
Strategic AI Integration: Used generative AI as a thought partner to structure early PRD frameworks and generate user interview questions. I manually refined and pruned broad AI suggestions to ensure every feature directly addressed real user research and client constraints.

Design & UX Decisions
Rapid AI Exploration & Architecture Choice:
Tested prompt-to-layout prototyping using Figma Make to quickly explore three distinct navigation models: Dashboard-First, Step-by-Step Flow, and Perk-Focused Layouts.
Selected Concept 1 (Dashboard-First): Evaluated the AI-generated concepts against user needs and chose a centralized hub layout to give users maximum flexibility and immediate 1-tap access to time-sensitive needs (e.g., ticket QR codes, directions, game countdowns).

Key Feature Implementations:
Centralized VIP Dashboard: Integrated digital tickets, game countdowns, and quick-action shortcuts into a single home view.
Turn-by-Turn VIP Parking & Arrival: Built dedicated lot selection with real-time arrival estimates and directions to spots like Pioneer High Lot.
Pregame Experience Reservations: Designed booking flows with clear guidelines and timelines for exclusive events, such as the Michigan Stadium Tunnel Walk and Sideline Access.
Transparent Perks Hub: Organized discounts (e.g., 20% off concessions, 15% off team store) and VIP lounge details into clean visual cards

Usability Refinements:
Tested high-fidelity prototypes with users to evaluate task success across parking, ticketing, and perk redemptions.
Validated that explicit status badges (e.g., "Recommended", "Active", "High Demand") significantly reduced cognitive load and sped up user decision-making during high-stress game-day moments.

The Results
The final high-fidelity prototype successfully unified fragmented VIP services into a streamlined mobile experience for University of Michigan season ticket holders. By replacing multi-platform clutter with a clear, dashboard-driven architecture, the design simplified game-day logistics, made premium perks instantly accessible, and elevated the overall ticket value.
As my first project combining live AI prototyping with UX design, it demonstrated how pairing rapid AI generation with strong human design judgment creates intuitive products that solve genuine user frustration and support business retention goals.
